Mono printing as play time!
Finding time to and courage to play…
Mono printing is a good way of experimenting freely
I know that there are advantages to being limited by time and purpose-driven. I am, and it does mean work gets done! The other side is that I find it hard to allow myself time just to play.
To make prints with no clear aim is a joyful playtime but I can find it challenging unless I set some rules to play in. Mono- printing is a good way of experimenting freely and playing as you can produce images quite quickly that are not precious and also get a print for free- the ghost image!

Some of the monoprints produced will end up recycled as cards or for collage. Other prints may be added to using coloured pencils or with collage to create a finished piece. Another few prints may just produce a ghost of an idea that leads me off to a new exciting place.
Sometimes the only outcome is an afternoon of fascination and absorption which must be time well spent.
